Bookmakers are backing the UK-US duo of Ed Sheeran and Beyonce Knowles to be the UK’s Christmas Number One on December 25.
This week Sheeran, the UK’s highest selling record artist released a special version of his single ‘Perfect’, featuring US RnB Queen Beyonce. Opening markets, all bookmakers currently back ‘Perfect’ as clear 4/7 favourite to land the Christmas Number 1 slot.
Alex Apati PR Manager for Ladbrokes commented on the Christmas market: “Ed Sheeran has released a new track at the perfect time of the year if he’s to claim the festive top spot, and plenty are fancying him to do exactly that.”
Sheeran and Beyonce are followed by X Factor 2017 winners Rak-Su (4/1- Ladbrokes), who have released their self-penned song ‘Dimelo’.
However, ITV’s flagship entertainment show X Factor recorded its lowest viewing figures in 2017. Could a public downturn of X Factor, hinder boyband Rak-Su’s chances of being Number 1.
Perhaps the best shot at stopping the Sheeran-Beyonce juggernaut will come from classic Christmas Songs such as Wham’s ‘Last Christmas’ (5/1 Ladbrokes) or Mariah Carey’s ‘All I want for Christmas’ (8/1).
