Ladbrokes Coral governance has confirmed the departure of veteran employee Lee Drabwell as Retail Operations Director.

Drabwell has served Ladbrokes operations for 29-years, taking on numerous executive positions within the bookmaker’s retail betting division.

Moving forward Ladbrokes Coral retail operations will be led by Andy Hicks former retail betting lead for Gala Coral Group. The enlarged bookmaker informed stakeholders that Drabwell would assist Hicks in the handover period.

Speaking to the Racing Post, Drabwell confirmed his departure from Ladbrokes Coral, further stating that he would pursue new opportunities within betting and gaming once he’d taken his gardening leave break.

“I am pleased to have led the retail team in recent years on its journey of growth and market share gain and I will leave the business with very fond memories and proud of my achievements.” Drabwell told the Racing Post

“I am looking forward to a short break before looking for a new challenge in the betting and gaming sector.”

Ladbrokes Coral CEO Jim Mullen personally thanked Drabwell for his significant contribution to company growth and strategy, stating

“In his 29 years Lee worked his way up from behind the counter to be a senior leader in the business and while it is always sad to see colleagues like Lee leave the business, we wish him well for the future.”
