Continuing its operational and executive restructure under new CEO Jim Mullen, Ladbrokes plc has announced that following a review of the costs and efficiency of its international team it intends to restructure its International operations.
Following the restructure Damian Cope, MD – International will leave the business and nine roles in the centrally based International team will be placed at risk of redundancy.
The restructure of its international operations, will see the existing locally based management teams continue as normal with Australia MD Dean Shannon reporting directly to CEO Jim Mullen.
Ladbrokes Belgium business, led by MD Alexis Murphy will report directly to Lee Drabwell, MD UK Retail. The joint venture in Spain, with Ladbrokes represented by Mark Fowler, Sportium Retail Director, will liaise directly with Adam Greenblatt, Corporate Development and Strategy Director. Where required digital support will be provided by the Digital team under Andrew Bagguley’s leadership.
Ladbrokes Irish retail division Ladbrokes Ireland is currently subject to an examinership process with plans for the business on hold until that process completes.
Commenting on the changes Ladbrokes CEO Jim Mullen stated:
“Our international businesses each have strong management teams and do not require extensive support from a centrally based International team. This move will reduce costs and bring the International businesses closer to our Exco team. The resulting savings will enable us to support the increased investment in our digital business which is essential to the future of the Group.”
