Gambling.com will significantly expand its US sports editorial coverage and expertise by partnering with US multi-media group Gannet Co.
The partnership will see Gambling.com supply content for sports enthusiasts while utilizing Gannett’s broad reach across US states through the USA Today network and further localised publishers.
The company will incorporate its cutting-edge data science platform and sports betting content on USA Today and over 200 leading publications in local areas where sports betting has been legalized. A
In addition, the agreement will encompass content distribution across the USA Today Sports and Sports Media Group (SMP) properties, including the Sports Wire suite of fan sites in over 20 legal sports betting markets.
According to Charles Gillespie, the CEO of Gambling.com, “Gannett’s preeminent digital presence across the US makes them an ideal media partner for us to drive revenue and cash flow growth in our primary target market.” He added that “media partnerships are a tested method for both Gambling.com Group and our media partners to generate significant, new revenue from online gambling player acquisition.”
Gannett CEO Michael Reed expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating that it “allows Gannett to have a market-leading sports-betting authority provide in-depth reviews, breaking news, and expert insights to their audience of over 47 million sports fans.”
The partnership is further expected to be immediately effective to “Gannett ‘s EBITDA and Cash Flow by monetizing their sports traffic and becomes progressively more valuable as regulated online gambling is introduced in more states.”
