BetCity.nl upgrades Vitesse sponsorship for new Eredivisie season

BetCity.nl, the flagship Dutch sportsbook property of Entain Plc, has once again enhanced its sponsorship of Eredivisie football club SBV Vitesse Arnhem.

Starting next season, BetCity.nl will become the principal sponsor of Vitesse, moving its brand logo from the back to the front of the club’s shirt.

The partnership between BetCity.nl and Vitesse began in January 2022, with the sportsbook becoming the Arnhem club’s first official betting partner, then back sponsor, and now main sponsor.

The BetCity.nl logo will remain on Vitesse’s shirt until mid-2025, which is the maximum allowed period due to the inbound ban on shirt sponsorship by gambling/betting companies, which is set to begin from 1 July, 2025.

Vitesse becomes the third club in the Eredivisie to have BetCity.nl as their main sponsor, following FC Volendam and Fortuna Sittard.

Peter Rovers, Interim General Manager of SBV Vitesse thanked BetCity.nl for their support and community engagement over the past three years, stating: “With BetCity, we secured a new main sponsor at an early stage after eToro was not renewed. It is great that this is the result of a successful partnership that functions to everyone’s satisfaction.

“The key to this success is BetCity’s active attitude and strong commitment to both the club and the supporters. With the financing of several atmosphere promotions, activities, giveaways and away games, BetCity has established itself as a very dedicated partner. With the main sponsorship, we will only be able to get more out of the successful collaboration.”
