Stockholm-listed LeoVegas AB has continued to restructure its marketing leadership, after confirming the appointment of Johan Rikner as new Digital Marketing Director.
Detailed as a key leadership appointment for 2020 directives to Swedish business news source Resume.se, Rikner is the former founder of Nordic native and press advertising publisher Nyheter365 (‘News365’) – a business acquired by Stockholm marketing group Mediaplanet in 2017.
As part of the transaction, Rikner would be maintained as a Chief Digital Officer (2018-2019) and board member of Mediaplanet, overseeing the development and strategy of Nyheter365 and the further publishing assets of Appelberg and Newsner.
The executive maintains prior online gambling experience having served as Swedish Country Manager for European online sportsbook bwin (2008-2011).
Facing tougher marketing and advertising compliance requirements across its key European operating markets, in 2019 LeoVegas governance moved to restructure its group marketing leadership.
Last summer, the Stockholm enterprise confirmed the appointment of former Kindred Group Swedish General Manager Dersim Sylwan as new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).
Moving forward, Sylwan and Rikner will share responsibility in overseeing the growth strategy and digital development of the flagship LeoVegas brand and further Rocket X igaming subsidiaries.
