B2B supplier mkodo is marking its 25th anniversary with a leadership transition, as Co-Founder Stuart Godfree steps down as Managing Director and David da Silva assumes the role effective immediately.

Godfree has played a central role in the company’s development, guiding mkodo from its early focus on mobile innovation to becoming a global technology partner for operators including British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC), Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG), and Superbet.

The leadership change comes at a time of significant transformation across the iGaming and lottery sectors, with operators facing rising costs and tighter regulation.

“Reaching 25 years is a proud milestone for mkodo,” said Godfree.

“The business is in a strong position, with proven technology, long-standing partnerships, and an exceptional team.

“David’s leadership will ensure mkodo continues to innovate while staying focused on reliability, compliance and player experience in the world’s most regulated markets.”

New mkodo MD brings industry experience

Incoming Managing Director da Silva brings experience across product development and commercial strategy within regulated markets. His appointment signals a renewed focus for the London-headquartered firm on helping operators balance user experience with complex compliance requirements.

His previous roles include Commercial Director at rival B2B suppliers Nektan PLC and Cashbet, and he also served as Chief Operating Officer at Dublin-based FinTech Symphony FS for a short period in 2018.

More recently – between 2019 and 2024 – he took on the role of Chief Executive Officer at odds comparison site easyodds.com and he also still serves as a Director at consultancy firm headbaker. He joins mkodo after co-founding non-profit organisation SoGood Partners in 2023, where he was also Chief Marketing Officer.

“iGaming is, at its core, an entertainment product – but one that now operates under intense regulatory scrutiny,” da Silva. “The operators that succeed in the next phase will be those who can deliver both – seamless, engaging experiences and robust, automated compliance.”

Looking ahead, da Silva will focus on expanding mkodo’s core product suite and supporting operators as new regulated markets emerge.

“iGaming is, at its core, an entertainment product – but one that now operates under intense regulatory scrutiny,” he explained.

“The operators that succeed in the next phase will be those who can deliver both – seamless, engaging experiences and robust, automated compliance. That balance will define the winners.

“Markets like Brazil and parts of North America, most recently Alberta, Canada, show just how quickly regulation is evolving.

“That creates both opportunity and complexity. Our role is to help operators scale with confidence – delivering experiences players love, while meeting the highest compliance standards behind the scenes.”
