DAREBS: The solution to recovering FOBT losses?

The onus has been put on betting shop operators to replace the inevitable dip in revenues caused by the slashing of maximum stakes to £2 on fixed odds betting terminals and the now, effectively defunct, B2 profile. Pavel Korolev, Business Development Director at InBet Games, believes his firm has a product that could help stem the flow.

“Fifteen years of dealing with regulatory issues across many countries has given us an edge in adjusting our offerings to suit the ins and outs of any jurisdiction we work in.

In the UK, the quest to find alternative revenue streams to the FOBT has pulled into focus an existing InBet solution which emulates popular features of the much-maligned machines.

Dynamically Animated Real Events Betting System (or DAREBS) are similar to FOBTs in that they also offer a wide diversity of entertaining animations, yet its players make bets on airplane positioning in real time mode, removing the random number generation (RNG).

The point of RNG is of the utmost importance here. FOBTs are classified as types of slot machines that operate off RNG and fall under the category of games of chance. The fact that DAREBS is live events betting, in real time mode with no RNG, dictates that it falls into the category of betting on live events.

This real-event mechanism makes it safe on a regulatory front as it can be operated on a bookmaking licence, without cannibalising the infrastructure that is already in use. And can continue to give the betting shop customers entertainment at a level they are familiar with.

This means that by implementing DAREBS, an operator can retain the same profit-making capacity as with FOBTs pre-£2 ruling, while the entertainment experience for its players will be more engaging and exciting than ever before.

In addition to betting on airplane positioning, DAREBS’ variety of 120 betting animations including Lemon Cherry, Columbus Deluxe, Book of Ra Deluxe, Dolphins Pearl, Book of Ra, Sizzling Hot Deluxe, Just Jewels Deluxe, Lucky Lady’s Charm Deluxe and many more.

All DAREBS graphics possess an underlying rationale whereby each digit combination corresponds with a particular symbol and each symbol represents a graphic image.

Every bet event is displayed as a graphic or sequence of images, while each outcome is denoted in a unique digit combination that is displayed on the screen in the betting shop.

DAREBS versatility and variety of betting options will encourage operators to offer their players this brilliant alternative to FOBTs, and will be a win-win deal for everyone.”
