Amaya continues 2015 growth despite external headwinds

Reporting on its Q3 2015 corporate performance (period ending 30 September), Toronto listed Amaya Inc has reported quarter revenues of CAD $325 million (£160 million) up 8% on Q3 2014’s CAD $300 million.

Revenue growth would transfer to EBITDA earnings of CAD 141 million (£70 million) for the period, up 8% on Q3 2014’s CAD $ 130 million.

Amaya Q3 net earnings would total CAD $90.5 million (£45 million), representing a 13% increase on Q3 2014 earnings of CAD $79 million.

Detailing Q3 highlights, Amaya governance noted that during the period, the operator had recorded strong customer activity reporting 2.2 million real-money players on PokerStars.com. To date Amaya notes that it has registered approximately 97 million customers for its group services.

Amaya governance noted that corporate performance and player activity had been effected by international regulatory circumstances. Since its acquisition of Rational Group assets the operator has had to withdraw from 30 jurisdictions.

Regarding its long term debt, Amaya completed a refinancing in August which resulted in a repayment of approximately US$590 million of the Corporation’s USD second lien term loan. To date Amaya has repaid approximately $690 million of its outstanding long term debt.

Commenting on corporate performance Amaya CEO David Baazov said

“Since Amaya’s acquisition of its B2C business, we have consistently delivered shareholder value,”

“And, despite multiple recent global challenges to our core business, we believe we are well positioned to increase our cash flow and continue to grow our customer base in 2016 through a number of initiatives.”
