Arena Racing Company (ARC) has announced that bet365 will be the official betting partner of its Silk Series promoting female horseracing.
The Silk Series which hosts its inaugural race at Lingfield Park this afternoon, is a new initiative that sees female jockeys, both professional and amateur, compete in races hosted on nine Ladies Days across ARC racecourses in 2017.
Lingfield Park plays host to the first race in the series, a seven-furlong Class 4 which is worth £10,000, the Silk Series will have a combined prize pool of £100,000 for its competing jockeys.
As Silk Series organisers the ARC has partnered with Cancer Research UK to raise money for the charity’s pioneering work into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer. From the sale of each ticket sold to Silk Series fixtures, 75 pence will be donated to the charity. Cancer Research UK will have a presence on racedays with racegoers having the opportunity to engage with and support the charity.
ARC management has scheduled the following race meetings for its 2017 Silk Series
- Lingfield Park – Friday 12 May
- Chepstow – Friday 14 July
- Great Yarmouth – Wednesday 19 July
- Newcastle – Saturday 29 July
- Brighton – Thursday 10 August
- Wolverhampton – Friday 18 August
- Bath – Saturday 19 August
- Royal Windsor – Saturday 26 August
- Doncaster – Thursday 14 September
