In an update to shareholders, Betsson Group has revealed two new acquisitions aimed at strengthening the operator’s presence in the Dutch market.
The first company that is now under the wing of Betsson is Holland Gaming Technology Ltd, which holds a Dutch casino games licence and operates the goldruncasino.nl and goldruncasino.com domains.
Holland Power Gaming B.V. is the second – a Dutch game development company that is the exclusive games supplier of Holland Gaming Technology.
Both deals have been said to equal €27.5m in total consideration, paid out on a cash- and debt-free basis with Betsson’s own liquid assets.
From the total €27.5m, €16m has been paid upfront, with €9m and €2.5m of deferred payments agreed as instalments to be paid out across six and twelve months respectively.
The transaction agreements have been approved by all sides and the closing signatures will be put on paper today, 19 February 2024. Both acquisitions will be subjected to a follow-up approval by the Dutch gambling authority KSA.
Betsson’s ambitions to continue its geographical diversification have remained unchanged, with the company releasing a strong Q4 and full-year performance in its latest investors call last week.
The financial breakdown showed a steady growth in Q4 revenues across Latin America (€53m, up 2%), Central & Eastern Europe and Central Asia (€106m, up 25%), and the frontrunner market of Western Europe ( €41m, up 61%).
In terms of online casino revenues, Betsson’s Q4 2023 portfolio grew by 25% YoY (€182m) compared to the same period the previous year (€146m) – an uptick largely driven by Betsson’s igaming product expansion with 325 new games, which Holland Power Gaming will further strengthen over the post-acquisition period.
Additionally, SBC Media interviewed Betsson Group’s CEO Pontus Lindwall shortly after the publishing of the results to learn more about the company’s plans for the year ahead.
