Italian gambling operator Gruppo SNAI (SNAI) has confirmed that Executive Chairman Gabriele del Torchio has resigned from his governance role for undisclosed reasons.
Updating the market, SNAI detailed that Torchio will depart the company on 13 June and has chosen not to keep his position within the company board.
The former Chairman of Italian airline Alitalia, Torchio had joined the operator in July 2015 replacing former SNAI CEO & Chairman Girgio Sandi following the company’s merger with gambling technology provider Cogemat SA.
At the time of his appointment, SNAI governance detailed that it expected Torchio to be a short-term appointment as the company looked to restructure its leadership and governance following the integration of Cogemat operations.
Announcing Torchio’s resignation, SNAI detailed that all corporate stakeholders and special committees had accepted his resignation.
“SNAI Group thanks, Mr Del Torchio for his significant contribution to the Company also in the contest of the integration with Cogemat/Cogetech Group,” the operator said in its official statement.
