After Ciaran O’Brien collected 16.5 points last week at Cheltenham, all eyes will be on the next special guest in the Tipster Challenge at Haydock. Trying to maintain, or even extend the Guest’s lead, will be Damien Fearn of Tipstrr Ltd.
Damien used to build custom algorithmic models to provide useful and profitable advice to clients and betting syndicates.
Now he is the Managing Director at Tipstrr.com, an automated and verified platform that gives tipsters a place to prove themselves.
Damien will be up against 2nd placed SBC News, Timeform and the resident horse racing guru at bettingexpert, Stephen Harris. Follow the race day at Haydock via @SBCGAMINGNEWS:
SBC News: Hollies Pearl
Faded late on recently at Doncaster, but less of a quality field for this one.
bettingexpert: Hollies Pearl
Has not fulfilled the promise of her bumper efforts yet, but could improve for decent ground at this more galloping track.
Timeform: Hollies Pearl
Hasn’t looked a total natural over hurdles but does have plenty of ability and this test will suit her better than the one at Doncaster did last time.
The ground at Haydock should suit the 2nd favourite.
SBC News: Double W’s
Again there are doubts, but form has been pretty good and should be the quality horse in this race.
bettingexpert: Double W’s
Has run really well against some useful performers and has been found a great opening to break his duck.
Timeform: Double W’s
May have won but for suffering significant interference on the final circuit at Catterick last time and can put matters right here.
He is in with a good chance here, and the price offers some real value.
SBC News: Daveron
Looking for a hat-trick of wins at Haydock, albeit in a higher quality race.
bettingexpert: Shimla Dawn
Did not stay 3m 1f in a better race at Catterick last time and remains open to improvement over fences for his excellent small yard.
Can make it 3 wins from 4 starts over fences. Deadly Sting is open to improvement after 10 months off and could emerge as his biggest danger.
Tipstrr: Some Buckle
Expect Nick Scholfield to ride well, and Some Buckle to be too strong.
SBC News: Three Colours Red
Trained by Warren Greatrex, the quicker ground should suit the 4-year old Three Colours Red.
bettingexpert: Three Colours Red
Has been given a very attractive opening mark and will relish this better ground on handicap debut.
Was much better for his comeback when third at Catterick 3 weeks ago and can start to make up for lost time off what looks a fair opening mark.
Tipstrr: Blue April
Another horse with a good price, and the good going will suit him.
SBC News: Quito Du Tresor
Listen Boy’s last performance didn’t inspire any confidence, so we’re siding with the longer odds veteran Quito Du Tresor.
bettingexpert: Listen Boy
Takes a big drop in grade and can defy top weight with Twiston-Davies back in top form.
Timeform: Listen Boy
Has been given a chance by the handicapper and can take advantage back from a break. Whiskey Ridge and Fiddlers Reel both have long absences to overcome but are on handy marks if they retain their ability.
Tipstrr: Lord Landen
Good over this distance, and with the going good he could well win here.
SBC News: Sharpasaknife
Made an impressive, winning debut in January and gained more credit with a creditable 2nd place at Market Rasen on 9th February.
bettingexpert: Beware The Bear
Less exposed than these rivals and could improve a chunk for decent ground.
Impressed when making a winning debut at Wetherby in January, and acquitted himself with plenty of credit when runner-up at Market Rasen last month.
A favourite to finish on top at Haydock; expect him to run as strongly as the odds suggest.
