Tottenham’s rich vein of form pleases fantasy managers

Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini and Ben Davies of Tottenham Hotspur were the surprise top scorers in this week’s fantasy football.

Off the back of an impressive 4-0 away win at Huddersfield Town, Spurs boast three of the top five scorers in gameweek seven, with defender Davies, who now sits fourth in overall points scored, joined by Kieran Trippier and the free scoring Harry Kane.

SBC’s Charlie Cole continued his own good run of form, top scoring to narrow the gap at the top further still.  A North London trio of Arsenal’s Nacho Monreal (15) and the aforementioned Davies (16) and Kane (captain, 26) responsible for 57 of his 89 overall points.

It is still James Birch, however, who leads the way in SBC’s League of Legends.  Manchester City’s injured front-man Sergio Aguero, who is still the game’s overall top scorer, had to make way, a problem many fantasy managers up and down the country had to contend with, and in came the in form Kane.  Together with his captain Romelu Lukaku they led the way for ‘Cash Hughes’ with 25 of his 69 point haul.

Elsewhere, Steve Lang’s impressive weekend took his side into the top ten.  Arsenal duo Monreal (15) and Hector Bellerin (11) doing the business in defence, while Manchester combined further forward with City’s Kevin De Bruyne (11) and United’s Lukaku (12) helping ‘secondtimelucky’ to 75 points and ninth place.

After the international break it will be all eyes on Merseyside when the Premier League returns, with Manchester United hoping to continue their early season form and heap more misery on bitter rivals Liverpool.  Spurs and Manchester City could well be the teams to look at for big points once again, with home games against AFC Bournemouth and Stoke City respectively.
