ASAP Italia confirms appointment of Paolo Farinella as new CTO

ASAP Italia, the company behind new DFS platform Sportito, has confirmed the appointment of Paolo Farinella as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

Farinella will be responsible for leading the technological development for ASAP Italia across Sportito, Bettingrunner, Superscommesse, and a portal dedicated to citizen journalism, Super News.

Farinella’s experience in working with top brands such as eBay will help the company to continue its recent growth. After working on its financial integration applications in Italy for eight years, he spent time in Amsterdam from 2009 defining the Dutch market for the American eCommerce giant.

Following this, Farinella moved to London, where he drove two dedicated Big Data teams and Amazon Prime Video projects. In 2016, he started as a consultant, freelance CTO and Agile Coach for start-ups focused on the UK and US markets.

Riccardo Mittiga, CEO of ASAP Italia, said: “I’m more than happy to welcome Paolo as the new CTO of ASAP Italia. Undoubtedly, Paolo has got the potential to enhance the company towards its growth. His previous experience and will be a great contribute to our company.”

Farinella added: “When I returned to Italy from Amsterdam, I had the opportunity to meet Riccardo Mittiga, who introduced me to the world of ASAP Italia. I saw a company with a team of highly motivated people and an IT department with great growth potential, so I wanted to be a part of it.”

Sportito, which is currently operating with a UKGC licence, will be soon launching in several other countries across Europe, South America, Africa and Asia, with the ultimate target of conquering the 40 million strong DFS fan base.
