Cantor Gaming Nevada operations filed a lawsut against bookmaker William Hill/Playtech over allegation that William Hill poached trade secrets and potential clients from Cantor Gaming Nevada operations. Cantor Gaming claim that additionally William Hill acquired privileged information regarding Cantor Gaming after their purchase of Brandywine Bookmaking Nevada 2011.
Brandywine Bookmaking had been set up and operted by Cantor Nevada ex Managing Director Joesph Asher. Currently Brandywine Bookmaking operate sixteen sportsbooks in the Nevada state under their Lucky sportsbook brand these brands were acquired by London-based William Hill for $15.7 million in 2011.
The lawsuit from Cantor Gaming Nevada alleges that via the acquisition of Brandywine Bookmaking and in the process of appointing Asher as Chief Executive Officer for its operations in the United States, William hill have participated in underhand and illegal tactics to benefit Asher’s usurpation of business ideas and opportunities that were created by Cantor Gaming Nevada. The lawsuit claims that Cantor informed and believes that the William Hill defendants have acted in cohesion with Asher and Brandywine for this unlawful objective,”
Joesph Asher has directly refuted these claims by his ex employer.Claiming that he he cleared the business plan for Brandywine Bookmaking with executives from Cantor Fitzgerald LP, the Wall Street investment firm behind Cantor Gaming before leaving the company. He further claims that approval was granted as his future business interests and actions would be focused on physical offline sportsbook in the Nevada region, whilst cantor would be focusing on digital product delivery.
