Betfair has announced the appointment of Liam Wallwork as Director of Gaming Operations. Wallwork will be responsible for the revenue performance and strategic direction of the operators gaming division, replacing Matthew Robinson who left Betfair in October 2014.
Wallwork’s appointment sees him promoted from his previous role as Head of Gaming Opertions. Wallwork will work throughout Belfair’s current product gaming inventory, including Betfair Arcade, Betfair Slots, Exchange Games and Betfair Bingo.
Wallwork brings a deep knowledge of igaming operations and marketing, having worked for Paddy Power as Casino Product Manager (2010-2013) and Skybet as Senior Product Manager (2006 – 2010).
In its November shareholder meeting, Betfair Chief Technical Officer Paul Cutter, stated that the company was committed to operating in-house product development and innovation in order to maintain its growth and progress in the igaming and sports betting markets.
Cutter stated that 86% Betfair product development and output was generated in-house, making the company independent of third party igaming technologies. Cutter compared it in house development rate against that of competitor William Hill, which developed 53% of its product inventory in-house
