FanDuel and EuroLeague bring Europe basketball’s finest to US eyes

US-based online gambling firm FanDuel has teamed up with Euroleague Basketball in a broadcasting agreement spanning across the 2024/25 season.

Under the contract, FanDuel will utilise its TV channel alongside its OTT platform FanDuel TV+ to exclusively broadcast to US audiences one game from every Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season round.

By doing so, the gambling company will be able to expand EuroLeague’s global reach and show basketball fans in North America how much the sport has taken off in Europe on a free-to-air basis.

Alex Ferrer Kristjansson, Euroleague Basketball Marketing and Communication Chief Officer, commented: “This agreement with FanDuel is a major step in expanding our footprint outside the pan-European ecosystem.

“By expanding the EuroLeague broadcasting offer to U.S. audiences, we’re opening exciting opportunities to grow our fan base and connect with basketball enthusiasts on a global scale.

FanDuel TV+ and FanDuel TV Extra will showcase EuroLeauge’s top clubs and emerging talents by leveraging a variety of streaming platforms, such as Pluto TV, The Roku Channel, Tubi, Xumo Play, and Plex.

Some of the games particularly in the spotlight are Virtus Segafredo Bologna against Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade taking place on 23 October, and Real Madrid versus Olympiacos Piraeus which will be aired on 29 October.

Mike Raffensperger, President, Sports at FanDuel, added: “We’re constantly looking to expand FanDuel TV’s robust offering of live sports and EuroLeague has proven to be a highly engaging market amongst FanDuel users.

“Our agreement will provide more visibility to Europe’s premier basketball league and bring even more captivating watch-and-wager programming to FanDuel TV.”
