Codere Online selects new Chair and Board members

Codere Online has appointed three new members to its Board of Directors.

Codere, which operates mainly in Spain and Latin America, as well as other EU markets, has brought in Gabriel Saenz de Buruaga, Taavi Davies and Claude Noesen for an initial term of one year. They are replacing Patrick Ramsey, Michal Elimelech and Laurent Teitgen.

Codere Group CEO, Gonzaga Higuero, stated: “We welcome these new additions to the board and look forward to working with them to build upon the significant progress achieved by the company in recent years.”

Higuero was also re-appointed as Director and will serve as Chairman of the board going forward.

He continued: “I would also like to extend my sincere appreciation to Pat for his valuable contribution and dedication as chairman since Codere Online went public in 2021, and I am excited that he will be joining me in the board of our parent company, Codere New Topco, following its recently announced recapitalisation and as it looks ahead to a promising future.”

Meanwhile, approved in the Board of Directors meeting last week was the Audit Committee’s appointment of Claude Noesen as member. Borja Fernández and Daniel Valdez will continue to serve as Chairman and member, respectively.

In the Compliance Committee, Mark Dunn was selected as Chairman and Taavi Davies as member. Rafael Catalá and Yaiza Rodríguez will continue to serve as members.

Codere Online recently spoke with SBC on how the brand is leveraging its portfolio of sports sponsorship to continue to boost growth in Spanish speaking markets following its recent deal with Rayados.

Carlos Sabanza, the company’s Director of Sponsorships and Public Relations, said: “Like any company, we have our commercial and visibility objectives, and we understand that this is also the case with a club like Rayados. We come to contribute, to contribute to the growth of a sport as relevant as football.

“With these types of agreements we know that we are doing it, we are aware that from our side, we are helping the growth of sport and especially football.

“This translates into being able to offer the best football-related experiences to fans and being able to bring them closer to the club so that they feel like participants in it and feel it as their own, even more so.”
