Sportradar enhances digital graphics for Sportsnet’s MLB & NHL broadcasts

Canadian sports network Sportsnet has selected Sportradar to deliver immersive and data-driven content.

Aiming to create more immersive experiences for sports fans in North America, viewers will witness a ‘seamless’ inclusion of real-time statistics, player information and advanced data sets into Sportsnet broadcasts – all via the Swiss firm’s OnAir service. 

The deal also sees additional access to both statistical experts and radar360, Sportradar’s web-based research application, also aims to elevate Sportsnet’s real-time storytelling capabilities. 

This support includes the integration of enhanced digital graphics and in-depth research to bolster Sportsnet’s MLB and NHL broadcasts.

Brian Josephs, Head of Regional Sales, North America, at Sportradar, commented: “We are proud to partner with Sportsnet, a market leader, who is committed to entertaining and informing Canadian sports fans.”

In detail, Sportradar’s support will apply to Sportsnet’s entire brand portfolio, which includes its regional channels, East, Ontario, West, and Pacific, as well as Sportsnet ONE, Sportsnet 360, Sportsnet World, Sportsnet+, the Sportsnet Radio Network, Sportsnet.ca, the Sportsnet app and podcasts.

The agreement with Sportsnet marks the latest extension of the group’s links to media, streaming and broadcasting. Engagement in this area has seen the company sign deals with the likes of the NHL, covering the league’s streaming service and the Tennis Channel.

“This collaboration showcases Sportradar’s expertise in enhancing sports content through data and technology,” Josephs continued on the new Canadian partnership. “Together, we will bring fans closer to the action, providing them a unique, more engaging viewing experience.”

Sportsnet is the top-ranked sports network in Canada, having firmly established its place as the most viewed outlet as the primary broadcaster of the MLB and perhaps most significantly the hugely popular NHL.
