Sam Depoortere has joined OpenBet’s betting product development mission as the latest member of its senior management team in that field.
The company’s new Vice President of Platform Products will work to implement the sportsbook provider’s platform solutions product strategy from its Athens headquarters.
His chief responsibilities in the role will be to executive its solutions and assist with oversight of product lifecycle management across OpenBet’s global markets over the coming years, reporting directly to Nikos Konstakis, Chief Product Officer.

To perform his duties, Depoortere will leverage his ‘wealth of industry experience’ gained from roles at a number of prominent operators, having most recently worked at the Nederlandse Loterij’s sportsbook division, TOTO.
His last role at the Dutch operator was Business Director, a position he held for four years after taking on responsibilities in July 2019 after previously filling the roles of Marketing and Sports Manager and Sportsbook and CRM Manager.
In addition to the Nederlandse Loterij, Deportere’s betting industry experience was further enhanced by a tenure as Country Executive for Belgium at Super Group international betting brand Betway and as Marketing Manager for Gibraltar-based Media Odds.
He joins Endeavor-owned OpenBet during a pivotal year for the firm. The company has established a strong foothold across European and North American markets, processing large numbers of bets from prominent events whilst also expanding its responsible gambling capabilities via a takeover of Neccton in June.
