Stoiximan Group launches Betano brand in Portugal

The Stoiximan Group has cemented its position in the Portuguese market via its Betano brand, which offers a sportsbook with live betting and streaming features, alongside a casino portfolio.

Betano already has a presence across the German, Austrian and Romanian markets while the group currently operates in Cyprus and Greece under its Stoiximan brand.

Betano’s country manager in Portugal, Ricardo Branquinho, commented on the launch in the new market: “Our product has been specifically positioned to bring innovative features for the Portuguese market such as Μissions, Bet Mentor for the multiple bets fans, as well as an extensive live streaming offering, exclusively for our customers.”

Earlier in 2019, Greek operator OPAP acquired a majority 51 per cent stake in Stoiximan’s Greek and Cypriot operations for a total consideration of €94.86m (£81.9m).

The acquisition followed a September 2018 36.75 per cent acquisition in Stoiximan for a total consideration of €50m.

Stoiximan CEO, George Daskalakis, added: “Staying committed to our user-centred philosophy across our international launches, we intend to commit ourselves to steadily focus on our customers’ needs and keep rolling out continuous product improvements to keep making their experience better and even more exciting.”
