The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) has confirmed that it has extended its long-standing sports data and technology partnership with Genius Sports Group for a further two years.
The extension of the partnership will see Genius Sports additionally gain exclusive rights to distribute FIBA live data to betting operators, opening its information system to more than 2000 FIBA sanctioned games.
Announcing the renewal of partnership in Lausanne Switzerland, FIBA governance named Genius Sports as its ‘Official FIBA Data and Statistics League and Federation Partner’
The extended partnership will see national basketball federations and leagues continue to benefit as the FIBA LiveStats tool and associated services keep driving significant value in sport development and fan engagement.
Genius Sports is also helping the likes of French Basketball Federation (FFBB) and Argentina’s Association of Basketball Clubs monetise their LiveStats data through the execution of data rights agreements
FIBA Secretary General and International Olympic Committee (IOC) Member Patrick Baumann said: “We are delighted to continue this exclusive collaboration with the newly-branded Genius Sports with respect to their statistical and competition management tools for federations and leagues globally.
