Having gained its licence to re-enter the Romanian online gambling market this July. European sports betting operator NetBet has announced the appointment of Dan Petrescu as first brand ambassador for NetBet.ro.
Petrescu is one of Romania’s best known football figures having played for Steaua Bucharest FC (1985-1991) and in the Premier League with Chelsea FC (1995-2001). Petrescu is currently manager of Chinese Super League club Jiangsu Sainty.
The former Romania international footballer will be used to promote NetBet’s Romanian and European football markets, as the bookmaker looks to expand its audience in the newly regulated betting market.
In a statement Petrescu was pleased to become Romanian brand ambassador for NetBet, stating that the operator had a clear strategy for its NetBet.ro brand combined with an honest and dedicated work ethic.
The former Romania defender was further pleased to partner with a betting company that had operations in Romania. NetBet currently employs 250 staff in the Romanian town of Timisoara.
NetBet has gained operator licenses for the markets of Belgium, France, Spain, Italy and the UK
