Betway becomes title sponsor of World Cup of Pool

Sports betting operator Betway has agreed terms with Matchroom Sport to become title sponsors of the upcoming World Cup of Pool (23-28  September, Mountbatten Centre Portsmouth)

The ninth addition of the tournament will feature  32 two player teams competing in a six day straight knock-out tournament. Matchroom Sport sport has confirmed some of the biggest names in international pool will be competing, such as current world number1, Englishman Darren Appleton.

The tournament  which has a prize fun of £250,000 will be broadcast on Sky Sports UK, Fox Sports Australia, ESPN3 USA, OSN Middle East and CCTV China. In addition to world-wide TV coverage, Matchroom Sport’s internet partners, Perform Group, will be carrying the event live in its entirety across their platforms.

Betway have published special odds on the tournament, with defending champions Philippines are 100/30 favourites to hang onto their title, but will be hard pushed by the likes of England A (6/1), the USA (15/2) and last year’s runners-up Holland (8/1)
