Parimatch doubles down on Ukraine aid with €1.8m contribution

Parimatch Tech has doubled the amount of financial assistance it is providing to Ukraine from UAH 30 million to UAH 60 million – approximately €1.8 million.

The international sports betting company has stated that it spent the first UAH 42 million: UAH 39 million on ammunition and three million on medicines, clothing, foodstuffs and logistics.

The next UAH 18 million is looking to focus on humanitarian aid, binoculars, body armour, drones, helmets, military spec, thermal imagers, and night vision devices.

Chief Talent Officer, Tatiana Davydova, stated: “Despite the difficult times for the country and the business, Parimatch Tech did not withdraw any offers, and specialists who were terminating cooperation were offered to stay and receive a salary.

“The company paid in full all compensation to the teams. In addition, each employee can request emergency financial aid.”

Furthermore, Parimatch Tech and Parimatch Ukraine employees are also taking part in volunteer activities including; buying goods and medicine, cooking meals for territorial defence and refugees, delivering food and drugs to people in need and evacuating residents.

The company has also organised warehouses in Kyiv that volunteers use to gather, coordinate and deliver humanitarian aid.

Additionally, Parimatch Tech has stated that it transferred a ‘significant’ portion of company office equipment to territorial defence forces: printers, laptops, monitors, network equipment, modems.

It was also revealed that the territorial defence have already received Parimatch’s Tech branded products and onboarding kits such as power banks, hoodies, socks, hats, thermoses and food boxes.

Parimatch Foundation – the group’s non profit organisation – was founded in 2019 and has suspended projects of sustainable development initiatives in a bid to change the focus on helping war victims.

Moreover, in further support to Ukraine from the industry, it was reported last week that the gambling market’s fundraiser to support the country’s public, Gaming Industry for Ukraine, made strides towards achieving its £250,000 target.

Issuing an update, the initiative – which has been providing financial backing to the Choose Love charity’s Ukraine Crisis Fundraiser – detailed that it has secured £190,000 in donations from betting operators in the past week.

Companies to have donated to the initiative in support of its £250,000 target include Betsson Group – which contributed £50,000 – as well as Microgaming, OLBG, Better Collective, Just for the Win, Enteractive and Funfair Games.
