OpenBet has extended its long-term partnership with Greek gambling operator OPAP to deliver an enhanced retail betting experience.
Under the new framework, OpenBet’s technology platform and products are leveraged across OPAP’s retail estate.
Jordan Levin, Group CEO of OpenBet, commented: “We’re proud to have facilitated the next generation of OPAP’s retail betting offering, particularly so soon after the success of our online launch together.
“This is a significant milestone for both companies and strengthens our own position as a trusted provider to lotteries worldwide.”
In detail, the migration involved more than 3,000 OPAP stores across Greece and an estimated 20,000 terminals, which are powered by OpenBet’s betting technology and trading content platform.
“The launch of a new betting platform across a retail estate of more than 3,000 stores was a major undertaking, which was completed successfully thanks to close collaboration between the OPAP and OpenBet teams,” added Jan Karas, CEO of OPAP.
“We firmly believe that the new retail betting platform will enable us to further enhance customers’ entertainment experience at OPAP stores.”
Last week, in its latest quarterly update, Athens-listed OPAP reported year-to-date revenues of €1.50bn, marking an 8% increase from the previous year’s €1.39bn.
However, the company’s commercial momentum experienced a slowdown in Q3, with a 3.5% decline in Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) to €480m.
The downturn was primarily attributed to unfavourable jackpot rollovers which impacted its Lottery unit and a period of higher sports betting payouts leading to adverse results.
