UKGC to set-up Forum for better industry insights

The UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) has initiated its recruitment of members to form a new Industry Forum. 

Made of members with experience working in the UK gambling sector, the Forum will provide the Commission with improved insights into the views of licensed operators.

The UKGC continues its initiative to bolster the range of stakeholder feedback provided by special advisory groups such as the Lived Experience Advisory Panel, the Advisory Board for Safer Gambling and the Digital Advisory Panel.

An industry forum will provide the Commission with direct feedback on the areas of customer management, consultation processes, and its data programme. 

The Commission will recruit and appoint a Chair of the Forum for a three-year term in addition to other members who ”understand the industry and the challenges and opportunities it faces”.

The Forum will consist of 10 members representing all core segments of the UK gambling sector. 

Recruitment for the Chair will begin in September when the regulator will also be inviting expressions of interest to be a member. Details of members and their advice to the Commission will be published on our website.

UKGC Chairman, Marcus Boyle, said: “We’ve always listened to the views of the industry when deciding how best to make progress but this new forum will give us another way to work with representatives from the industry we regulate.”
