ARC finalises Vermantia acquisition

ARC solidifies global racing commitment on completion of Vermantia takeover

Arena Racing Company (ARC) has finalised its acquisition of Vermantia in a takeover which solidifies the racing group’s commitment to omnichannel content distribution.

Following the completion of the deal, Vermantia confirmed that George Fotopoulos, the company’s former Chief Operations Officer, will step up to the position of Chief Executive Officer.

He said: “Fully joining forces with ARC is recognition of the power of Vermantia’s solutions and its commitment to deliver cutting-edge technologies to the entire gaming industry.

“There are numerous product synergies between the two companies as we are moving forward, with plans to form a powerful business that unlocks multiple new projects and a brand-new approach to media rights and broadcasting.”

Vermantia Founder Filippos Antonopoulos will take the position of Strategic Consultant at ARC, and Mark Kingston, the firm’s Director of Media Technology and Production, will also join the Board of Vermantia.

Antonopoulos commented: “This combination recognises the work done by our team over the last years through its commitment to innovation in omnichannel content and distribution technologies as well as in Vermantia’s international expansion. We are glad to fully join ARC and further elevate Vermantia’s leadership through its scale.”

ARC explained that the takeover of Vermantia “fully aligns” with the company’s strategy of “creating a unique offering in global racing and beyond”.

Vermantia will also continue to develop its product portfolio, enter into new markets and expand its presence in existing jurisdictions. This, it believes, will help take its business “to the next phase”.

Kingston said: “ARC has been a major shareholder in the Vermantia business for a number of years and completing the acquisition of the business reflects the group’s commitment to growing the content distribution business.”
