Coral launches multi-million-pound Racing Club

Coral has launched its ‘Racing Club’, a ‘ground-breaking’ initiative for racing fans to experience the thrill of racehorse ownership and further racing benefits.

Launched for the winter jump season, the Coral Racing Club will enable punters to enter ballots of ownership for Coral-trained racehorses, with all prize money distributed back to participating members.

The free-to-join club comprises of four racehorses trained by Jonjo O’Neill, Joe Tizzard, Rebecca Menzies and Scott Dixon, with a fifth stud currently being sourced by Jonjo O’Neill to complete the five-strong team.

Further benefits will see Racing Club members rewarded with thousands of tickets to attend racing meets during the year at major Coral sponsorships, including Coral-Eclipse and the Coral Scottish Grand National

Simon Clare, PR Director of Coral said: “The Coral Racing Club is the only free-to-join racehorse ownership experience in the UK, and our ambition is to make it the biggest and best Racing Club in existence, getting thousands of our customers closer to the action than ever before, and in doing so helping to broaden the appeal of the sport for the benefit of everyone in racing.”

“For many years Coral has demonstrated a deep passion for, and commitment to, British Racing through some of the longest-standing racing sponsorships in the sport, but this year we have significantly expanded our sponsorship portfolio to become the leading bookmaker sponsor in the UK.”

Of significance, Coral has backed the launch of its Racing Club with a multi-million-pound media investment, which saw creative agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty (BBH) develop “The Journey” – an HD campaign to to promote the UK’s biggest racehorse ownership campaign.

Coral underscored its continued support for UK racing, in which the bookmaker maintains the highest number of fixture sponsorships, including Glorious Goodwood,  the St Leger Festival, the Coral Gold Cup at Newbury, the Coral Trophy at Kempton and the Coral Lanzarote at Kempton.

Clare added: “By creating and launching the Coral Racing Club, on top of doubling our investment in racing sponsorship, Coral is now doing more than any betting operator has done before to grow the appeal of racing, and promote the sport. We look forward to working on this project with all of our racing partners and ambassadors to make this a great success.”
