Tote offers Swedish racing with ATG deal

In a deal that will offer UK customers new opportunities to bet on Swedish racing, The Tote has secured a new partnership with the Swedish Horse Racing Totalisator Board (ATG).

Available bets for all Tote customers on Swedish thoroughbred and trotting racing include ‘Win, Place and Trifecta’, as well as ‘Exacta’ on thoroughbred racing only, with work underway to integrate the Tote with the popular Swedish multi-leg V-bets.

Alex Frost, Chief Executive of the UK Tote Group, said: “In these unprecedented times we are all working together across horseracing to do what we can to support the sport and its participants.

“Horseracing is truly global and at the UK Tote we want to play our part in showcasing the sport to as broad an audience as possible. We want to help increase interest in racing and via innovation and collaboration ensure pool betting can help drive revenue back to the sport.

“Our new partnership with ATG is a valuable example of this with racing fans now able to enjoy watching and betting on Swedish racing for the first time with the Tote. I would like to thank Hasse and his team at ATG for their innovative approach to our discussions which has enabled this agreement to be formalised very rapidly. We look forward to continuing to work together as we integrate the Tote with the popular Swedish multi-leg V-bets.

“In addition to our work with ATG, we are in discussions with a number of other international partners which we look forward to providing an update on in the coming weeks.”

Racing from Sweden will be streamed live on a watch and bet basis on tote.co.uk, and will be made available to all Tote customers.

Hasse Lord Skarploth, Chief Executive of ATG, added: “We are all affected by the situation the world is in right now, both in our private and professional lives. Under these circumstances it is good that in the short term we have been able to work with the UK Tote to offer betting on Swedish racing for their customers for the first time, thereby generating revenue to the sport. We intend to continue to exchange ideas and develop the partnership between the UK Tote and ATG to help benefit racing in both our countries.”
