Intralot confirms departure of Antonios Kerastaris as Group CEO

Issuing a short market statement, Athens-listed gambling/lottery technology group Intralot SA has confirmed the resignation of Antonios Kerastaris as Group Chief Executive and a member of the firm’s board.

Updating investors, Intralot governance confirms that current Executive Chairman and enterprise founder Sokratis Kokkalis will re-take leadership of the firm’s day-to-day operations as Group CEO.

Kerastaris ends his five-year tenure as leader of Athens technology group, with Intralot governance further detailing that Kerastaris will no longer maintain a position on the company board replaced by Alexandros-Stergios Manos as a non-executive board member.

A technology and telecoms executive, Manos is the current Chief Executive of Luxembourg-based government and public organisations IT solutions provider INTRASOFT.

Industry analysts await the publication of Intralot’s full-year 2018 results, in which corporate governance is expected to update investors on the firm’s Turkish options, having lost its vital sports betting monopoly contract.

Last Friday, Intralot Turkish partner Turkcell announced to shareholders, that its INTALTEK joint-venture subsidiary would no longer service the Turkish Sportoto Organisation contract, losing its bid to Turkish media conglomerate Demirören Holdings in partnership with Scientific Games.
