Vermantia teams with ARC for Nigeria expansion

Omni-channel content solutions supplier Vermantia has teamed with ARC, the largest racecourse group in the UK, as it looks to launch the first Live Greyhound Racing Channel in Africa with YangaBet, a fast-growing Nigerian betting operator.

The channel will include a compact daily schedule of top quality greyhound racing, from fully accredited UK and Australian tracks, enabling betting on at least 120 premium live greyhound races per day.

It will be powered by Vermantia’s CONNECT platform and its complete odds service for a wide range of betting markets, while the channel will be delivered to the shops using Vermantia’s latest high efficiency video coding (HEVC) technology, allowing maximum broadcast quality at minimum satellite bandwidth.

Spyros Stavropoulos, Vermantia’s Key Accounts Director, stated: “We are delighted that through our recent cooperation with ARC, we will be launching the first live greyhound racing in Africa. Our offering is uniquely positioned to meet the market’s demand for a new live product for all types of players, by enabling betting on a comprehensive schedule of races throughout the day that are both frequent and fast, easy to bet on and exciting to watch.”

Antony Hopkins, ARC’s Director of International Markets, added: “We are excited to be launching the first live greyhound racing channel in Nigeria through our global partnership with Vermantia. Our premium greyhound content is already adopted by major UK and international operators, adding Africa to our reach is a further testament of its value and global appeal.”

Vermantia was awarded best retail product at the SBC awards last month, an award that the supplier said highlighted the good work its been doing.
