Preparing for a new UK racing season, William Hill has issued an early warning predicting the domination of Willie Mullins and his champion jockey Ruby Walsh at the 2016 Cheltenham Festival.
The bookmaker predicts that the ‘Mullins/Walsh juggernaut’ will once again takeover Cheltenham this March, pricing Mullins at 1-5 to be ‘Festival Top Trainer’ at with Ruby Walsh 4-11 to be ‘Festival Top Jockey’.
The Mullins’ stable which blitzed last year’s festival, will likely feature the most backed Cheltenham 2016 runners.
William Hill has set out its Cheltenham 2016 stall early pricing 20-1 that Mullins wins all four Championship races, while it is 7-4 that Willie walks away with ten or more 2016 Festival winners.
All UK bookmakers will be hoping for more favourable results at Cheltenham 2016, having taken a costly battering at the 2015 Festival which cost the industry approximately £80 million in combined losses.
Commenting on Willie Mullins early pricing, William Hill horse racing spokesperson Jon Ivan-Duke said
“Willie Mullins is the man who strikes fear in to the hearts of bookmakers as we head towards Cheltenham. If Willie is among the winners, then there will be some long faces among the bookies,”
