Witten joins SIS from Tipp24

sisHorseracing broadcaster and data supplier SIS has appointed former Ladbrokes and Betfair executive Paul Witten as Commercial Director. Witten joins SIS  from Tipp24, the German lottery business and is tasked with making SIS’s planned growth initiatives a success and will enhance the strength of its core video and data into retail betting products.

His key responsibilities will include strengthening the sales and marketing team for SIS Betting to help the company achieve success with its new products and services, such as La Liga football data and its digital content streaming platform.

The appointment is the latest move in SIS’s programme of growth and diversification, launching new digital products and services to deliver its existing core content, and building on them to offer a wider portfolio of sports and events to media and bookmakers. Gary Smith, Chief Executive Officer, said: “I’m delighted that Paul has joined us. He has huge experience working in the betting industry with some major brands and a broad commercial background. He will be a key player for us as we move further into new areas and strengthen our existing core business.”

Witten has more than 10 years’ industry experience working in the UK and internationally, first with Betfair, where he spent five years as Marketing Director, and latterly as Director of Football. As Director of eCommerce and Mobile at Ladbrokes, he designed a strategy which saw the company’s mobile penetration grow to more than 30 per cent of sports turnover.

Having originally started his career in sales, Witten transitioned to advertising and joined the fledgling eBay operation in the UK.  For Tipp24, he has been heading up the international division, building relationships across the world, many with public bodies.
