After agreeing a partnership with Atlantic City’s Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino, UK igaming operator Betfair has announced that it will launch a heavyweight advertising campaign to target the newly igaming regulated New Jersey region, through social media, broadcast, digital and radio channels. Betfair have prepared for the launch of the campaign by launching website LetsPlayNJ..com
The website although lacking information aims to gives users information on legal igaming and Betfair New Jersey products, although not offering in-depth information the website states the following: “The future availability of internet gaming services on Betfair.com in New Jersey is contingent and conditioned upon the issuance of all necessary approvals, licenses and permits by the State of New Jersey including, but not limited to, all approvals, licenses and permits required by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.”
Betfair were granted New Jersey state gaming regulation through the New Jersey Racing Commission TVG subsidiary, which it acquired in 2009 for $50m. TVG operates as the TV and interactive gaming service for the state of New Jersey through its website – 4NJBets.com. The website serves as the only licensed online horse racing account-wagering platform for New Jersey residents.
Paul La Fontaine MD of Gaming for Betfair commented on the upcoming media campaign “We’re going to use it to give customers a taste of the Betfair experience that they will enjoy when we are permitted to launch our online casino,” he said. “New Jersey is leading the way by launching online gaming and creating a new economy. Betfair brings more than a decade of online experience and through our platform will be pleased to enable play anywhere, anytime through web and mobile devices.”
Betfair will target regional advertising channels as it bids to raise awareness of Betfair New Jersey igaming products. Digital adverts have already been displayed on ferry terminals in Hoboken targeting New Jersey commuters.
Betfair have also launched a sweepstake competition for customers with VIP holiday prizes to London and Hawaii, through promotion of its products on social media channels – Facebook and Twitter.
