Swedish stock listed igaming operator Unibet Group, has announced the agreement of a three year sponsorship deal with Australian National Rugby League side Parramatta Eels which willl begin for the upcoming Australian rugby league season. The sponsorship deal will see the Unibet brand displayed on the back of players jerseys.
Unibet will share shirt sponsorship rights of the Parrametta Eels with Australian property developer Dyldam. Australian news sources have commented that the two shirt sponsorship deals are thought to be worth more than AUS$1 million (€700,000/$934,000)
Parramatta chief executive officer Scott Seward commented of his teams new shirt sponsors “It’s all about long-term, sustainable success and we’re going down that route, it’s a great result for us today, Unibet is an international partner, and they’ve got programmes in place for irregular gaming patterns and problem gambling, and that’s something we happily support, and we’ll play a part in helping them do that here,” he said.
The sponsorship deal undertaken by Unibet, sees the European igaming operator expand its brand and coverage into new market concentration focusing on the Australian igaming market. Australian igaming has suffered from recent restictions on in-play betting advertising and marketing of igaming products during sporting coverage earlier this year.
