Hippodrome launches breakthrough cashless experience with OKTO

London’s Hippodrome Casino has claimed the title of the first UK casino to integrate a cashless payment solution.

The heritage casino, located in London’s Piccadilly Circus, will be able to offer patrons a fully cashless experience through the integration of OKTO wallet solution on the Hippodrome mobile app.

OKTO is a developer of customised payment solutions for the gaming, entertainment, and leisure sectors.

The payment technology group has successfully integrated its cashless payment services for tier-1 gambling operators in Spain, Germany, Romania and Italy.

The Hippodrome partnership sees OKTO announce ‘its high-profile entry’ into the UK casino market.

“The Hippodrome was the first to interpret changes in legislation bringing about a new style of UK casino that has put the venue firmly on the world map.” commented Simon Dorsen, OKTO’s Chief Commercial Officer.

“Now the established cornerstone of West End life introduces OKTO to its visitors, being always in the frontline of digitalisation.”

Integrating UK casinos’ first cashless payment system, Hippodrome’s app will be supported by OKTO.Wallet’s full compliance solution to verify customer age and KYC.

The Hippodrome stated that it has chosen to launch a cashless payment solution, to meet the demands of a new generation of customers and to lead the casino sector in providing enhanced payment experiences and capabilities.

George Constantinou Head of online of Hippodrome Casino said: “Since opening nearly a decade ago on July 13th, 2012, the Hippodrome is the UK’s largest and subsequently most popular casino and entertainment venue has set new standards in everything that it has done and that includes digital payments and the 1st casino membership app that includes a customer wallet.
