News Corp Australia has confirmed the appointment of Ben Bloomfield as new Chief Executive for its racing digital platform Punters.com.au.
Bloomfield takes over leadership of Punters.com.au from outgoing CEO & enterprise founder Luc Pettett who has decided to leave the business in order to pursue ‘new projects’.
In 2016, News Corp Australia acquired privately owned Punters.com.au outright from Luc Pettett and associated investors. The acquisition saw the media giant enter the AUS $6 billion Australian horseracing market.
A seasoned Australian racing veteran, Bloomfield joins Punters.com.au having most recently served as Group General Manager for Wagering & Media for Tabcorp Holdings.
News Corp informs that Punters.com.au founder Pettett had been a key stakeholder in the appointment of Bloomfield as his successor.
“I’m thrilled to be joining Punters, a business which has a great culture at its centre and the best and brightest staff providing a world-class platform with so much potential,” Bloomfield commented on joining Punters.com.au
“It’s time to hand over but we know Ben will be a terrific fit for Punters and lead our team.
“Punters has been a great source of pride to me but it’s all about the people who have helped build it over the years. It’s been an amazing journey”.
