Amaya governance proposes name change to ‘The Stars Group Inc’

Further to publishing its Q1 2017 trading update, Amaya Inc governance has informed investors that it has moved to propose a corporate name change to ‘The Stars Group Inc’.

The Toronto-listed gambling group informs that its proposed name change to The Stars Group will be voted on at the upcoming annual shareholders meeting.

Further to the name change, Amaya governance has detailed that the company will continue to operate under the laws of the Business Corporations Act of Ontario.

The company informs that it will move its head office to Toronto, Ontario once it concludes its executive search for a new CFO replacing the outgoing Daniel Sebag.

‘Amaya will become an Ontario corporation and subject to such act. Following the continuance and appointment of its new CFO, Amaya intends to move its corporate head office to Toronto, Ontario.’ The company informs.

Amaya governance completes a busy Q1 2017 opening, in which the company confirmed the appointment of new Chief Corporate Development Officer, Robin Chhabra who joins the firm from FTSE-listed William Hill Plc.

An industry financing expert, Chhabra will act as growth development lead, advising the TSX-listed gambling group’s governance on expansion strategies, asset valuation, and M&A initiatives.
