Former NBA Star Rick Fox buys eSports Team
Former LA Lakers forward and NBA star Rick Fox has bought eSports League of Legends team Gravity.
Gravity was only formed in January 2015 but will now enter future League of Legends tournaments under the new name of Echo Fox.
League of Legends is amongst the most popular titles in competitive gaming, though competition is set to become increasingly tight with major new titles set to be released in 2016.
Whilst details of the financial value of the deal were not disclosed, recent deals for similar eSports teams have been around the £670,000 mark.
In a statement, Fox said: “I see the way that the eSports world is growing and I know we are on the verge of something massive.”
