Online betting service and affiliate has launched a new interactive ‘Talking Mobile’ series with some of the biggest operators in the gambling industry. The Q&A features are intended to give an insight into the development and success of bookmakers’ Apps in a competitive and fast-moving online environment.

Questions from the team, who between them have over 50 years’ experience in the betting industry, are pitched to leading names from some of the most well-recognised operators around and the finished document will be posted on

Raymond Doyle, Mobile Marketing Manager at Gala Coral Group, is the first name in the series. Interesting findings from the inaugural feature include:

  • The opening day of the 2014 World Cup saw Coral break their record for the most downloads of their app in one day
  • Push notifications are proving an excellent instrument for Coral ─ figures show a significant spike in turnover immediately after each push notification has been sent out
  • Win-draw-bet markets remain the most popular bets through their app but next goalscorer and correct score bets are on the rise – particularly for televised games
  • An in-play app punter in December 2012 had £1000 on Manchester United to beat Newcastle 4-3 at 125/1, scooping £125,000!
