Sky Betting & Gaming makes first ever Sky Bingo millionaire

Daniel PhillipsSky Betting & Gaming’s Sky Bingo team has confirmed that Chrissie Johnson, a chiropodist from Wales, has becomes its first ever millionaire with a payout of more than £1.3 million.

Chrissie Johnson, who won £1,346,155.43, had been a member of Sky Bingo for just over a year and had been playing on ‘Chests of Plenty’ for 15-20 minutes when she suddenly saw £300,000 appear in the winnings. As she continued watching, the screen then informed her she’d won the progressive jackpot.

The five reel, fixed 20-line pirate-themed slot designed by Playtech, is a favourite with the mother of three and grandmother of four because of the community atmosphere on the site and its ability to help keep her occupied during nights when she struggled to sleep following a period of ill health.

The game features a progressive jackpot in the in-reel chest bonus round, a treasure map bonus, as well as wild symbols and symbols that can become wild depending on which symbols they are next to. Chrissie won the jackpot in the chest bonus round as nine diamonds appeared in the three chests.

Chrissie, who also enjoyed a special night of entertainment in Leeds courtesy of Sky Betting & Gaming, commented: “I like to play Sky Bingo because they play fair. I also enjoy the games, features and chat. I can’t thank them enough; this is a life-changing amount and I’m looking forward to spending more quality time with my husband Mike and my children and grandchildren.”

James Boord, Head of Bingo and Poker Marketing, said “We’re so delighted for Chrissie and to celebrate our biggest ever winning bingo prize pot with her here in Leeds. We take great pride in building long-lasting relationships with customers by offering a best in class product and customer experience. This win is proof that the excitement is real, as dreams really do come true. Sky Bingo has an exciting business plan with significant investment planned in product, marketing and people.”

Daniel Phillips, VP UK operations, Playtech, said: “We have an excellent relationship with Sky and have worked very closely with them over the years to develop market-leading products that enable us to offer huge progressive jackpots with regular payouts.”
