SBC recognises new industry talent with Rising Star award

McCarron, Rising StarSBC will crown the inaugural Rising Star in Sports Betting at the SBC Awards 2016, which will be held on December 7 at Under the Bridge nightclub. This prestigious award has been created to recognise the most prolific emerging operator or affiliate in the sports betting industry.

Andy McCarron, Managing Director at SBC, said: “We are particularly excited about crowning the Rising Star in Sports Betting for 2016. This award will be contested by companies that have emerged as the most successful new players in the industry over the last three years.

“The best entries will be put to a vote between all those who registered for this year’s Betting on Football and Betting on Sports conferences, with voters asked to place particular emphasis on growth, new market penetration, and improvements in both brand awareness and brand recognition.”

However, this is just one of 15 awards created to recognise excellence in 2016. SBC is also calling all suppliers, agencies and technology companies to put themselves forward for one or more of the seven innovation-based awards. The best entries submitted by the October 25 nomination deadline will then be judged by an all-star panel tasked with picking out the truly-ground breaking entries.

For example, the ‘Innovation in Football Betting’ award has been created to recognise the company behind the best product in football betting, whilst the ‘Innovation in Sports Betting’ prize will be won by the company behind the best product in sports betting, or non-football betting, for 2016.

For all of the innovation awards, the judging panel will give most credit to companies which have demonstrated the best innovation, applied the most creativity and differentiation, and recorded the biggest commercial success. Betgenius picked up ‘Best Innovation’ for its Abandoned Betslip Targeting at last year’s awards, formerly known as the Betting on Football Awards.

Nominations for all of this year’s awards will close on October 25, and will be presented by Sky Sports’ Hayley McQueen, who has been sponsored by Argyll Entertainment to host the event.
