Under the banner ‘Together for the Tote’, investment consortium Alizeti has unveiled the executive management team which will seek to revitalise the Tote’s racing pools betting proposition.
Led by racing financier Alex Frost, last May Alizeti secured a 25% stake in the Tote, valued at approximately £150 million with a further option to acquire 100% of the legacy operator in future transactions.
Today, Alizeti presented its management team of ‘individuals with significant experience and expertise in the horseracing, betting, technology and finance sectors’ who will support CEO Alex Frost and Chairman Eamonn Wilmott in redeveloping the Tote for the best interests of UK racing.
Industry figureheads include former Sportech Chief Executive and Playtech Plc US Director Ian Penrose acting as ‘strategic commercial & operational advisor’ for the enterprise.
Penrose is set to work closely with former JP Morgan executive Paddy Burrowes, who takes up the position of Commercial Director.
Taking the lead of the new Tote’s product development is former William Hill innovation and Tabcorp international director Jamie Hart as Head Product.
In its update, Alizeti confirms the appointment of seasoned UK marketing executive Andy Hobsbawm as Brand & Marketing Officer, charged with repositioning the Tote.
Hobsbawm will be supported by former Betfair and ARC executive Susannah Gill as communications lead, with former Somo Mobile and PokerStars executive Emma Crowe as Marketing Director.
Former Nomura and Merrill Lynch travel and leisure investment director Simon Larkin had been appointed as Chief Financial Officer of the new Tote.
Commenting on the team and ‘Together for the Tote’ guiding vision, Chief Executive, Alex Frost, said “We have ambitious plans to grow the Tote and to achieve this it is essential we build a world-class team of dedicated people who are focused on ensuring it has a successful future. I am really excited by the team we are putting together which has individuals who bring vast experience and expertise from a range of sectors.”
