FTSE-listed gambling operator Rank Group Plc (Rank) has announced two leadership appointments for its core assets, Grosvenor Casino and Mecca Bingo.
Updating the market, Rank governance announced that Martin Pugh has been appointed Managing Director of its Grosvenor Casino division, having served as leader of Mecca Bingo (2014-2016).
Pugh replaces Mark Jones as Grosvenor leader, who departed the company last month following seven years’ service.
The promotion sees leisure industry veteran Alan Morgan join Rank as Managing Director of Mecca Bingo. Morgan takes over Mecca Bingo leadership having served as Chief Operating Officer of The Spirit Pub Company (2011-2016)
Rank Chief Executive Henry Birch welcomed the appointments, stating that its core divisions had found strong leaders.
“Following the successful turnaround of the Mecca retail business, I am delighted that Martin will now be spearheading a drive within Grosvenor Casinos to grow the retail performance of our casinos business and to continue the exceptional growth that has been achieved in the digital channel,” he said.
“With his extensive experience in multi-site management, I am confident that Alan will be a valuable addition to the Rank Executive team and will lead the Mecca team to deliver the ambitious plans that we have for the business in the future,” Birch said of Morgan’s appointment.
