An initial two season regional sports sponsorship deal has been struck b
etween Liverpool FC and the Scandinavian online casino operator ComeOn!.
188Bet is the club’s official gaming provider and will remain as such as this new agreement is an altogether different set up. Part of the agreement stipulates that ComeOn! is able to advertise and promote its link with Liverpool across media platforms in Norway, Sweden and Finland.
Liverpool commands a significant Scandinavian following; perhaps partly due to the likes of Sami Hyypia and John Arne Riise’s long and successful spells at Anfield. The club is in fact more popular than many of the strongest domestic sides.
ComeOn! spokesperson, Paul Mykelbust, discussed his excitement at the inking of the deal and called it a ‘unique agreement’ which will give the operator exclusive rights which no other betting partner in the region will have.
“Not only will fans see exciting activations focused on Liverpool FC but they will also enjoy tickets to games at the famous Anfield stadium,” he continued.
Chief Commercial Officer at Liverpool, Billy Hogan, mirrored Mykelbust’s reaction and said of the announcement: “We’re delighted to welcome ComeOn! to what we believe is the world’s greatest footballing family.”
Despite a very close run end to last season’s Premier League trophy Liverpool are currently 10/1 to win in 2014/15. The bookies are seemingly viewing the departure of Luis Suarez to Barcelona as a huge blow to the team’s hopes.
