QiH Group ups London recruitment drive for in-house tech expansion

QiH Group has initiated its biggest-ever recruitment drive to accelerate the development of its proprietary tech platforms and boost the commercial performance of its iGaming media network.

Since the start of the year, QiH has recruited eight new hires to strengthen its technology team based in London, a strategic move to transition its digital systems from outsourced development to fully in-house engineering.

Amongst its new recruits, QiH has appointed Sachin Saxena as the firm’s first-ever Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Saxena joins from digital healthcare firm Congenica and brings extensive experience in scaling B2B platforms and leading cross-functional teams across regulated sectors.

A newcomer to the iGaming sector, Saxena is now spearheading QiH’s technology strategy, with a mandate to lead the transition of key systems in-house.

“It’s no simple feat overseeing the change management process necessary to move from fully outsourced to completely in-house tech capacity,” Saxena said. “But the most important aspect of that is the people. We really needed to find the right people fit culturally and experientially – and we needed to do it efficiently.”

QiH is actively seeking to expand its technology division further, with seven additional roles open, as the company scales operations to support growth across its media portfolio, which includes partnerships with industry giants Flutter and Entain.

The media group tells SBC that it has made “32 hires in the past 12 months, prompting a relocation to larger London headquarters to accommodate its expanding headcount.”

The group’s push for internal tech ownership marks a significant step in its evolution of its media network, founded in 2014 by iGaming entrepreneur Jamie Walters, with the aim of developing the best ROI sustainable  media campaigns.

Spearheading the recruitment drive, Saxena said the biggest challenge remains attracting top-tier talent, particularly given the ongoing skills shortage that has plagued the tech industry since the pandemic. “Recruiting into the iGaming industry has been really interesting,” he noted.

“For a lot of engineers, it’s not a sector they’d considered. But once they see the complexity and the scale of opportunity, it becomes a compelling prospect.”

QiH’s people-first culture is a key draw, Saxena added, pointing to strong internal promotion policies and flexible working conditions.

“HR isn’t an afterthought for QiH. Our COO, Andrew Lee, started his career in iGaming a decade ago with this company – and now he’s at the top table making strategic decisions.”

As QiH deepens its capabilities and expands its leadership team, the affiliate is positioning itself for long-term, sustainable growth in a sector that continues to evolve at pace.

Saxena concludes: “What makes this role exciting is how fast-moving and data-rich the iGaming ecosystem is. There’s no industry quite like it.”
