Another day, another confirmed #bofcon speaker on SBC News. This time it’s Jonathan Smith, a man with over 25 years of betting industry experience under his belt!
Jonathan founded Sportsbook Training Services, and in April he will be presenting the Sports Betting Academy, a 3-day course for sportsbook staff.
He will be making his Betting on Football conference debut at Stamford Bridge on Thursday 21st April, chairing a discussion on trading places, data and trading patterns.

Which Football club do you support?
Watford FC.
How do you judge their season so far?
Way beyond expectations given the nature of previous excursions in the Premier League.
How does your role with Sportsbook Training involve you in both Betting and Football?
My business is to teach trading staff and operators the theory and practice of bookmaking in the modern day sportsbook environment. Football betting is the largest grossing sport for all sportsbooks, so my courses often include study of how prices are arrived at for Football matches.
Why did you want to speak at Betting on Football 2016?
I’d heard good reports about last year’s conference, so when Andrew asked me to chair a discussion I was only too happy to accept.
What will you be discussing on your panel session?
The role that data has to play in informing pricing solutions and betting strategies for football.
What are you most excited about ahead of the conference?
In terms of the conference, getting to meet bookmaking firms, suppliers etc. Keeping abreast of the latest developments is important so that my training remains relevant.
