EGBA puts spotlight on European safer gambling

Safer gambling in Europe will take centre stage at the next annual European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) meeting.

The conference will take place between 18-24 November, and represents the host’s efforts towards nurturing an environment where important discussions can be held between shareholders around European player protection.

This year’s edition will mark the fourth time when operators, regulators, support organisations and industry experts will discuss safer gambling awareness strategies.

Stakeholders will also use the EBGA meeting to share best practices and tips, signpost key services, and present the latest developments in the space.

Maarten Haijer, Secretary General of EGBA, said: “We’re pleased to announce the dates for this year’s European Safer Gambling Week and look forward to another impactful edition. The initiative is an important part of EGBA’s commitment to raising awareness about safer gambling and fostering a strong culture of player protection in Europe.

“This year, we aim to reach even more Europeans with safer gambling tips and messages and bring together a diverse range of stakeholders for a week full of meaningful discussions about the future of player protection.

“Safer gambling is a shared responsibility, and we encourage operators and other stakeholders to join us in supporting this important initiative. Together, we can raise the bar.”

In a recent proprietary study, EGBA highlighted that the online gambling market in Europe will continue heading into a sustainable future if member states maintain a multi-licencing model
